The delicious, very filling Beef Curry.
Penang Road came highly recommended to us by a colleague stating that he had just eaten the best Curry Laksa of his life and then went on to name a few of the places it now rivalled. Within days we tried it and we have to agree, it is one of the best Laksa’s going round in Melbourne at the moment.
Penang Road’s specialty, the Curry Laksa, from $9.50.
We opted for the House Chicken Laksa – a sizeable bowl filled with spices and chilli and noodles, oozing with melted eggplant, chicken thigh, prawns and topped with their home made sambal – incredible. Even though their Laksa is definitely their signature dish they have a number of interesting dishes on the menu worth trying like their extensive range of Nasi Lemak, their wonderful chicken rice, coconut house curry and a range of snacks like the crispy xo soft shell crab.
Penang Road is a no fuss restaurant with clean, pleasant decor and fast, flavoursome consistent food. Dishes like the Laksa and their Beef Curry will keep us and you coming back for more.
