Event: Paul Louis launch at Kong BBQ

How often does one get the opportunity to go to the launch of genuine French bubbles? Not very! Hence, we were delighted to receive an invitation to the launch of Paul Louis sparkling. Just as exciting was the chance to preview the new restaurant Kong BBQ, which played host to this auspicious event.

Adding some chic, French flair was a tuxedoed incarnation of Monsieur Paul Louis himself, who greeted us on arrival with a flute of the beverage that bears his name. All in all, it was a luxurious evening to say the least.

We found it a pleasantly easy-to-drink ticklish bubbly, very fresh and fruity. Each glass was enhanced by carefully selected and delicious Korean-inspired Mandu dumplings and Kingfish sashimi by Kong BBQ.

Best of all, we were treated to a lesson on the correct way to pop a bottle of sparkling – one should always hold the cork and twist the bottle, not the other way round.

We bought two bottles on the way home and will certainly be keeping some Paul Louis in the fridge from now on in case of celebratory or spontaneous toasts!
