Sauced Pasta Bar
by Decisive CravingsThe Chapel Street landscape has changed dramatically in the last five or so years, with furniture shops reopening as cafés, op shops relaunching as Mexican restaurants, and the most recent addition a hair salon turning into a pasta bar. We can all agree that in Melbourne food reigns, much more than blow waves, couches or a pair of second hand Bettina Liano jeans.

Last night we were fortunate enough to witness the latest addition to Chapel Street’s thriving food scene, Sauced Pasta Bar – a brilliant idea executed well. A refreshing alternative but a welcome entry to Chapel’s multicultural melting pot, Sauced (as it is generally referred to) offers gourmet pasta and sauces (all made daily) fast – actually roughly seven minutes to be exact.
For a main pasta meal you are looking at paying between $9.90 – $14.90; an extremely economical option for quick lunches and dinners without being traditional fast food. And there are nice details too, like the option of shaved zucchini on your meal, as well as gluten free and ‘slim’ pasta for those with ‘diet’ary’ requirements, not to mention sides like Parmesan dusted chips and fried ravioli with dipping sauce.
Oh, and Sauced have got dessert covered too: Italian donuts with milk and dark chocolate AND vanilla bean ice cream ($6).
All in all, a great venue with a unique, gourmet offering delivered in speedy time.
