Many Melbourne sourdough bakeries have had to adjust their business models fast due to the unforeseen challenges of COVID-19. From offering delivery services to creating or adjusting their websites to facilitate pre-orders and pick ups, Melbourne’s bakeries are seriously delivering the dough. In addition to getting your daily gourmet bread fix, bakeries are offering a whole host of baked goods. If you want to know where you can secure a croissant, a peanut butter and miso cookie, or even buy flour to continue your isolation baking projects at home, the list below details exactly where you can satisfy your bread cravings.

Melbourne sourdough bakeries doing deliveries & orders

Dench Bakers , Fitzroy North
Offering delivery from Tuesday to Saturday to the following suburbs. Orders close 9am for next day delivery. There is a minimum order of one box, and a flat fee delivery charge of $7.50. Boxes include a small mix of baked goods and treats from bread to pastries, coffee and biscuits.

 

Kylie’s Slow Dough, North Carlton
Kylie is offering delivery to the suburbs of Fitzroy, Carlton, Parkville, Princess Hill, and (South) Brunswick for a fee of $5. She is accepting orders via phone and email, as well as her website. In addition to an extensive list of baked sourdough and treats, she is also selling organic white flour at $6 per kg or $50 for a 12.5kg sack. See her incredible product list here.

 

Tivoli Road Bakery, South Yarra
Tivoli Road Bakery are offering free delivery anywhere within 10km of the bakery for a minimum order of $50. Updates on bread and baked goods offerings and specials can be found on their Instagram page. They have also put together ‘Emergency Kits’ which include two pastries, one granola bag, a dozen eggs, one two-litre bottle of full cream milk, one Pepe Saya butter, one Who Gives a Crap toilet roll and $10 worth of vegetables – all for $75.
In addition to the above, Tivoli Road are also selling flour. White bakers flour is $4.50 and rye and wholewheat flours are $6.50 a kilo. For the home bakers, they are also selling bread kits for $10 that include all the ingredients you need to make a loaf of their organic stoneground sourdough from the comfort of home.

 

Baker Bleu, Caulfield North
Baker Bleu have implemented an incredible online store stocking specialty groceries including stoneground flour for home bakers, coffee, gourmet spreads and of course their much loved bread and baked goods. Their minimum spend is $25 plus a $5 delivery fee. For orders of over $50 this delivery fee will be waived. Orders are delivered between 10am to 2pm Tuesday to Saturday.
If you would like to pre-pay and pick up your order, this service is also available from Tuesday to Sunday (minimum spend $50) and must be collected in store from 7:30am to 3pm. 

 

All Are Welcome, Northcote and Thornbury
All Are Welcome also have a fabulous offering (sourdough, pastries, sausage rolls, jam, butter & more) which is all equipped online for pre-order pick up (only at their Northcote store) and delivery. Orders need to be placed 3pm the day before you require them.
Delivery is hyper local to Northcote, Thornbury, Clifton Hill, Alphington, Fairfield and Preston only. For orders over $20 there is a $5 delivery fee and for orders under $20 there is a fee of $10.

 

Wildlife Bakery, Brunswick
Wildlife have online pre-orders available for next-day pick up but orders must be submitted by 6pm the day before. Whole cakes are also available to order but orders must be placed three days in advance. In addition to bread, and pastries, ready to take home meals, groceries like cream, coffee, tea, cookie dough, eggs, and flour are all available to order online. Delivery is coming soon and will be updated accordingly.

 

Woodfrog Bakery has fast become one of Melbourne’s favourite bakeries, and their beautiful loaves are now available to pre-order for pick up, as well as delivery. For home delivery minimum orders are $20 plus a $5 delivery fee (view suburbs). Same day deliveries are possible if you order by 8am.

 

Falco, Collingwood
The home of the peanut butter and miso cookie can now satisfy your cookie cravings with the click of a button. Orders need to placed by 12noon the day before your delivery. Delivery and pick-up days are Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Suburbs are limited to: Abbotsford, Carlton, Carlton North, Collingwood, Fitzroy and Fitzroy North. In addition to bread loaves and cookies, pies, pastries, coffee and dairy are also available to order.

 

Firebrand Bakery, Ripponlea
An exceptional bakery offering daily bread specials and incredibly flavoursome sourdough based baked treats. According to a post on their social accounts you can place orders or enquire about delivery via Facebook direct message, Instagram or SMS on 0401 799 544.

 

Loafer Bread, Fitzroy North
Order bread, a range of pastries including three different types of croissants and cardamom, and cinnamon scrolls, grocery bundles, as well as coffee and flour via Loafer’s online shop. Delivery is only available to Clifton Hill, Fitzroy North, Brunswick East, Carlton North, Princes Hill and Northcote at a flat rate of $5 on orders over $30. Loafer have free shipping available for orders over $40.

 

Ovens Street, Brunswick
This micro bakery in Brunswick now offers pick-up or local delivery for orders over $50 from Wednesday to Sunday. Products you can now order online include daily specials comprising their sourdough bread bakes, pastries, doughnuts, biscuits as well as gourmet groceries like dairy, eggs, coffee, olive oil and more.
