The Victorian Fair Trade Festival & Fair Trade Fortnight

August 4th – 17th, 2017

This year, a global event celebrating ethical business is coming to Melbourne – the Victorian Fair Trade Festival. The Festival will allow visitors to learn more about fair trade and how their purchases can directly contribute to the fight against poverty and exploitation.

The two-week festival includes ethical shopping and gift market stalls, documentaries and networking events, workshops, food, live music and kids activities. The events have been designed to promote fair and just trade practices, as well as promoting sustainable environment and social responsibility. Festival highlights include:

 

The Fair Trade Indoor Markets (free event)

Sunday, 6th and 13th of August – Fair Trade Market – Preston City Hall

Open from 10am to 4pm.

Includes ethical shopping and gift market stalls, sampling, activities and free workshops including conscious fashion, sustainable fashion production and a fashion show.

 

Documentary Screenings & Ethical Network Events 

4th , 11th , 10th of August  – Northern Blues Football Club, Preston

A series of films designed to encourage conversations about the positive movement of change.

The films will be delivered in partnership with the Transitions Film Festival.
