ST ALI Review cover

FEATURED IN OUR MELBOURNE FOR CONSCIOUS FOODIES GUIDE

St Ali is widely regarded as a Melbourne coffee institution. Tucked away in a South Melbourne laneway, the line of people outside (particularly on weekends) will be the tell-tale sign you’ve reached your destination.

Not only famed for its coffee, St Ali is now well regarded for its food fare too, with a regularly changing menu and daily specials to showcase their sourcing of the freshest ingredients available.

They have an ethical approach to coffee buying – often going beyond the mere fair trade certification and paying well above market value, so that local farmers directly benefit from their proceeds. Their team regularly visits farms, farmers, co-operatives and even villages to ensure the money is going directly to the farmers.

Melbourne for Conscious Foodies

As far as commitment to the environment and sustainability, St Ali is made up of a lot of recycled materials. They also minimise waste by offering used coffee grounds for compost and gardening to customers. Barely anything from the kitchen gets wasted.
