Oasis bakery is honestly an Oasis, not only in Murrumbeena but in Melbourne. It is one of the most extraordinary middle eastern food shopping experiences you will ever have. Let’s start with their supermarket (what they originally traded as before their HUGE facelift). Find literally shelf after shelf and fridge after fridge filled with staples and inspirational ingredients from grains and legumes.
Then there’s their restaurant/cafe’ where you will line up happily to sample their signature shawarma wrap, filled with meat or salad and all the expected condiments. Then let’s go upstairs where they host a cooking school – what don’t they do? Make the pilgrimage, it is worth the precious find.

Must try: Their famous wraps, and if you go for the meat option (we always go for a mix), ask for chips in it.
Notes: Shopping, catering, cooking classes, shawarma – Oasis do it all. Small oceans have big waves, this place is packed all the time, if you don’t find parking from the North Rd entry they have private parking for customers out the back, otherwise off-street parking will have to suffice.
