Minh Tan II has been around since the early 90s, and we’ve been going there that long. Over the last two decades the one thing Minh Tan II do well, apart from the delicious Vietnamese/Chinese food, is their consistency – the old chestnut that makes people come back for more.
What we come here for are the delicious Yum Cha spreads on the weekends. Think all kinds of precious dumplings, like mixed seafood, scallop, and chicken and prawn, or delicacies like the prawn and bean curd (so silky and melt in your mouth), or the ginger prawn dumplings in a beautiful light gravy/broth.
If it’s an evening affair, we highly recommend trying the steamed oysters which they do with a range of sauces. Minh Tan II also deal in live seafood, but we have not been brave enough to venture there. However, if seafood is not your thing the BBQ roasts are a great option, with all the usual suspects: duck, pork and chicken awaiting the cleaver, as well as Peking Duck. And when you’re ordering be sure to ask them to put aside a mango pudding for your dessert – heaven!
From meals with family and friends with something for everyone (unfortunately except for vegetarians), Minh Tan II is a great option, particular if you can slide in during a quiet window of service or secure a booking. Price wise, it’s very reasonable for the quality. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Notes: Extremely busy, so do book to avoid disappointment. Decor isn’t flashy but a step up compared to some of the other eateries on the street.
