fifty acres breakfast

Breakfast is traditionally not a meal made to share, nor do we like to share a delicious fry up. However, this is a rule we’ve been breaking as of late at Fifty Acres. One of the newest cafe’s to hit the Punt Road end of Bridge Road, Fifty Acres is a beautifully designed, modern cafe open for the breakfast and lunch trade.

Pictured is the meal we continue to crave and come back for, The Fifty Acres Breakfast. For $18, a carefully cooked and artfully placed meal invites the tastebuds. Bacon, eggs the way you like, wilted spinach, balsamic marinated mushrooms and the masterfully baked hash browns – melt in your mouth, and it’s just enough for two! Although we’ve struggled to stray from this dish we have our eye on a few other menu items like the whipped eggs with goats cheese, crushed avocado and slow roast tomato ($14), or the free range eggs with bacon, polenta, baby spinach, corn and avocado salsa ($15). The lunch menu also looks incredible with indulgences like the confit duck leg salad with orange segments, Italian couscous, heirloom tomato, currants, baby spinach and toasted almond ($19) or the goats cheese soufflĂ© with Granny Smith Apple, walnuts and wild rocket ($12).

The good news is that they serve Duke’s Coffee (and know how to brew it), Storm in a Teacup teas and breakfast until 3pm. Impressively some of their menu items are gluten free too. It’s not fifty reasons, but plenty of reasons you need to visit Fifty Acres – a welcome addition to the Bridge Road precinct.
