Black Sesame Kitchen is quite a unique experience for all travellers visiting Beijing. From cooking classes to private dining and their ‘Wine and Dine’ evenings you can experience award winning Chinese cuisine up close or at a distance, it’s kind of like a choose your own food adventure. Choose to partake in a cooking class or have your meal made for you and its up to you whether you watch or eat and drink the night away (we did a bit of both the latter two!)
During our visit, a friend living in Beijing at the time had booked a group of us in for the Black Sesame ‘Wine and Dine’ night seated at the main table – amongst friends and strangers.Their signature offering at Black Sesame, allows you to indulge in a 10 course feast with top upsĀ of two delicious wines.
Dining at Black Sesame was for us experiencing hospitality at its best – both the chefs and wait staff held themselves with exceptional professionalism and made us feel at ease constantly, they were extremely knowledgable (especially our waitress), catering to our every request including organising dishes for those of us with food intolerances or dietary requirements.
Each day the menu at Black Sesame guarantees something new and something fresh. Our meal was flavoursome, at times complex, colourful and wonderfully fresh. Experience our truly unique dinner in images, just a sample of what you too could expect to enjoy.
(Pan fried dumplings and fried Shiitake with coriander)
A meal here is something best shared with a group of friends, and if you do be sure to book in advance as the restaurant is quite small and fills up quickly. Having said that, if you love food and will be on your own, go for it – because it will be a memory you will always remember fondly.
