burger2Andrew’s Hamburgers is a Melbourne burger institution. Over the years we have seen the essence of the burger recrafted with fancy names and flavours, hipster uniforms and logos, but nothing ever compares to the original and Andrew’s Hamburger’s have been producing old school, traditional burgers for years, since 1939 to be exact.

What to expect? A juicy, flavoursome burger reminiscent of the kind you would find at an old fish and chip shop – no frills, no special sauces just a tasty authentic burger best appreciated with the lot.

Even though we highly recommend their beef burgers, they also do chicken, vegetable and steak burgers, as well as souvlaki, egg rolls and wraps, they even cater for the kids.

Most days (not just Friday and Saturday evenings) there’s a queue at Andrew’s – all the evidence you need that they are doing something well. If you haven’t, try this iconic burger institution, one or two bites and your Andrew’s burger will definitely work it’s way into your top five Melbourne burger experiences.

Must try: Andrew’s Burger with the lot with a side of chips.

Notes: This place is generally busy, save yourself the wait by ordering by telephone or allocate some time to browse the local Bridport St shops while you wait. The Avenue Bookstore is a great place to while away some time. Please note that there is limited space and essentially operates on more of a take away model. However, there are five or so stools allocated for countertop eating inside.
